Job Title: Summer Internship · Vocabulary of Colour at Gaztelur
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Vocabulary of Colour team, you will support the first summer season of the brand at Gaztelur, Biarritz. You will be the face of the collection on-site, engaging with visitors, sharing the story behind each handmade object, and helping shape the client experience around the world of Vocabulary of Colour.
This role combines sales, storytelling, aesthetics, and hospitality within a unique environment that brings together antiques, flowers, food, craftsmanship, and l’art de vivre.
What we’re looking for:
- A curious, thoughtful, and aesthetically sensitive person with a genuine interest in design, interiors, craftsmanship, antiques, and beautifully made objects.
- Someone naturally warm and engaging, who enjoys building conversations and making people feel welcome.
- A proactive and observant person, attentive to detail and capable of understanding what clients are looking for — even beyond what they say.
- Someone organised, responsible, and eager to learn from a fast-paced summer retail environment.
- A person excited by the idea that objects carry meaning through use, memory, and beauty.
The ideal candidate must have:
- A background in or ongoing studies related to Interior Design, Architecture, Communication, Cultural Management, Fine Arts, Fashion Business, Marketing, or similar.
- Native or fluent French is essential, as most visitors are local. Conversational English is required. Spanish is useful but not essential.
- A strong visual sensibility and interest in craftsmanship, interiors, tablescaping, and decorative arts.
- Confidence communicating with clients in person.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- No previous professional experience is required — sensitivity, responsibility, and enthusiasm matter most.
The role broken down:
- Welcome visitors to the Vocabulary of Colour space at Gaztelur and introduce them to the collection.
- Share the story and craftsmanship behind each object — from hand-painted ceramics to antique textiles sourced around Biarritz.
- Assist clients throughout the sales process and manage transactions.
- Observe client interests, questions, and feedback, helping the team better understand the collection’s reception.
- Maintain the space beautifully and ensure the presentation reflects the spirit of the brand
- Coordinate stock replenishments with the Madrid team.
- Contribute ideas for local partnerships, activations, and opportunities during the summer season in Biarritz.
What we offer:
- Internship period from July 1st to August 31st, 2026.
- Schedule from Wednesday to Sunday, with Mondays and Tuesdays off.
- Morning: 11:30am – 3:30pm | Evening: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
- Internship agreement through your university or school, or registered as a freelancer.
- Part-time monthly internship allowance of €700.
- The opportunity to learn how a lifestyle and object brand is built from within, how boutique retail operates in a place like Gaztelur, and how storytelling, craftsmanship, and client experience come together around handmade objects.
