Job Title: Senior Interior Designer

Job Summary:

Reporting to Marta, you will lead the design and delivery of Interior Architecture and FF&E projects in Spain and abroad.

  • Proven ability to manage top-tier clients as a trusted point of contact, representing the Studio at the highest level.
  • Takes responsibility for delivering a seamless service to our clients.
  • Project leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Proactive, with good instincts and open to feedback.
  • International exposure — comfortable working across cultures and time zones, and coordinating with clients, suppliers and consultants outside Spain.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
  • At least 6-8 years of post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 4 years in the luxury residential sector.
  • International experience working on projects outside Spain (Europe, US, Middle East, LATAM, etc.) is essential.
  • Proficiency in Sketchup, AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong background in Interior Architecture, high technical ability and broad knowledge of materiality.
  • Passion for FF&E, with knowledge of suppliers, product and specialist finishes. Procurement experience is a plus.
  • Experience across all project stages, from concept to completion.
  • Understanding of project programs and deadlines.
  • Understanding of project costs and budgets.
  • Excellent eye for scale, detail and colour.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Fluency in Spanish and English required; French is a plus.

The role broken down:

Creative Direction

  • With Marta, lead the creative and conceptual stages of the projects.
  • Drive the design team, source new furniture, antiques and art, and bring fresh ideas to the studio.
  • Design and develop bespoke furniture, including case pieces, upholstery, lighting and joinery.
  • Present concepts and design solutions to clients.

Design + Project Management

  • Lead projects and provide a seamless service to clients, with clear communication throughout.
  • Deliver space planning, applying knowledge of planning processes and building regulations where relevant.
  • Attend internal and external design meetings and support the team on conceptual and technical aspects.
  • Produce delivery drawings and specifications to design intent package level.
  • Coordinate project documentation, ensuring comments and revisions are up to date.
  • Develop detailed specifications.
  • Support Senior Management in producing project timelines and provide regular progress reports.
  • Manage and check information produced by consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot problems while working across multiple projects.
  • Apply strategic thinking. Forecast and communicate risks, and propose solutions.
  • Close projects efficiently — support the team on snags and wrap-up.

Team support:

  • Support the Management team by:
    • Contributing to internal design standards and guidelines, and ensuring the team implements them.
    • Streamlining processes to increase quality and efficiency.
    • Monitoring the team's output and reporting back to Management.
  • Overseeing Middleweight and Junior Designers across projects by:
    • Mentoring and answering design queries.
    • Redlining corrections and teaching the approved process.
    • Continuously improve the Studio, the team's experience and studio culture.
