Job Title: Decorative Arts & Sourcing

Job Summary:

At Marta de la Rica Studio, we belive memorable interiors are not only designed, they are carefully composed. We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for decorative arts, craftsmanship, objects, materials and sourcing.

You will work closely with our creative team from the earliest stages of each project, researching, discovering and proposing unique pieces, materials, suppliers and artisans that bring depth, identity and character.

This is not a procurement role. We are looking for someone with genuine cultural curiosity, refined aesthetic judgement and a passion for decorative arts, capable of building meaningful relationships with artisans, galleries and suppliers around the world.

We value curiosity, taste and judgement far more than years of experience.

What we are looking for:

  • Genuine passion for antiques, art, craftmanship and unqiue pieces, with a sensitivity for the story and provenance of objects.
  • A refined aesthetic eye, trained by constant exposure to fairs, galleries, museums and dealers.
  • Curiosity for research: aesthetic movements, materials, historical references and new voices in art and design.
  • Comfortable navigating fairs, auctions and galleries, both in spain and internationally.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with dealers, gallerists, artists and specialist suppliers.
  • Organised, methodical and detail-oriented, able to translate research into structured references and visual libraries.
  • Proactive, resourceful and comfortable working with autonomy within a small, close-knit team.
  • International exposure - comfortable working across cultures and time zones, and building relationships outside Spain.

Requirements:  

  • Degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Docrative Arts, Interior Design or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in decorative arts, sourcing, curation or related fields within the luxury residential sector, fashion, hospitality, acution houses or galleries.
  • International experience working across different markets (Europe, US, LATAM, etc.) is highly valued.
  • An established network of dealers, galleries, artists and specialist suppliers is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent eye for scale, proportion, colour, materiality and composition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in Spanish and English is essential; French and/or Italian are a plus.

The role in detail:

  • Sourcing and research: search for antiques, unique pieces, art and objects that bring identity and soul to our projects.
  • Attend national and international fairs, auctions and gallery openings relevant to the Studio´s active projects and long-term vision.
  • Sourcing of unique textiles, fabricss and bespoke collaborations with testile houses.
  • Build and nurtur the Studio´s network of delears, galleries, artists and specialist suppliers.
  • Represent the Studio at the highest level in every interaction with dealers, galleries and suppliers.
  • Document references and build the Studio´s visual library, keeping it organised, curated and up to date.
  • Contribute to the creative narrative of each project alongside Marta and the Head of Design, bringing fresh ideas, discoveries and references to the studio.
  • Support the styling of the projects during installation and final delivery.
