PAISLEY COLLECTION
PAISLEY is a stylised plant motif with its origins in Persia, now modern Iran. This pattern is a joyful large-scale design drawn with ink onto mottled, aged paper. The washes and stains soak out from the edges of each pattern in vibrant colours
BARGELLO COLLECTION
BARGELLO or ‘flame stitch’ is a 17th Century embroidered cloth, originally from the Bargello Palace in Florence. This pattern is large-scale interpretation of the technique with the washes of watercolour layered in graded translucent shades.
CREWEL COLLECION
CREWEL or ‘crewelwork’ is a free-style embroidery technique that’s been used for many hundreds of years. Its heyday was in the 17th Century and featured stylised floral patterns with flowing vines and leaves. This pattern is the papery version! Carnations and Acanthus leaves have been drawn with coloured ink onto aged and mottled paper.
