The Versatile Tolix

The Versatile Tolix

Hi, all! It’s Mari here from Arcadian Home blog, a fantastic place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from beautiful mini pendant lights to colorful home accessories. It’s great to be with you at Blogging From New York to share a guest post.

Today’s topic is the versatile Tolix chair. I love chairs of every kind and have for as long as I can remember. My family likes to say I’ve never met a chair I didn’t fall for and they just might be right. One of my favorite designs is the iconic Tolix galvanized metal Marais A Chair created in the 1030’s by Xavier Pauchard. It may have started out as a café chair but we’ve fully embraced it at home to grace our interior rooms and outdoor spaces. It’s at once beautiful and versatile. Here are some of our favorite looks. Please enjoy!

Tolix Chairs

Matte black and beautiful, eight Tolix chairs surround a rustic contemporary wood table for a chic look. Isn’t that a great oversized pendant light?

If Tolix chairs are beautiful in black, they are stunning in white. These beauties seem to know no design style boundaries. Whether in a traditional kitchen or a stylish contemporary space, they seem to work well in just about any environment.

Did I say white is stunning? How about purple? These gorgeous chairs fit perfectly around this chunky rustic table with a pretty chained glass pendant light overhead, but I can also see this chair and its magnificent purple hue in a feminine dining space with ethereal gauze curtains and an ornate crystal chandelier.

On the subject of ornate chandeliers and Tolix chairs, aren’t these white ones gorgeous with this feminine chandelier in a rustic beautifully aged space?

With their totally French roots, Tolix chairs are very appropriate in French or Parisian-inspired spaces. These watery blue ones are gorgeous with a wrought iron French garden table. A black industrial pendant light hangs overhead.

Here sunny yellow Tolix chairs shine (no pun intended) in a Mid-Century dining room. Mixing Tolix and Panton chairs is a dream come true for the chair-obsessed of the design world.

White Tolix chairs look beautiful with red cushions pulled up to this black wrought iron table. The manufacturer suggests adding a protective coating to Tolix chairs before outdoor use. Red metal lanterns with candles serve as colorful outdoor lighting fixtures.

Vintage Tolix chairs in powder blue look wonderful with a long concrete table in this screened porch. There’s that great look again. It’s created by mixing Tolix chairs and ornate chandeliers–so pretty! Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
